Stranded Remains Empty Stranded Remains

Post by Admin Mon Nov 07, 2016 1:01 pm

An unfamiliar voice came over every com channel as the Echo approached the planet, urging passengers to secure themselves to whatever they could before they began their descent.  The ship roared as it entered the atmosphere, fires bursting from some of the engines and bays where they had sustained the most damage.  As they passed through into the planet's skies the head of the ship was torn away and cast miles off course.  The bulk of the ship fell barely controlled by what remained of the engines to the ground, crashing against branches and trees on the way down.  Airlocks were torn in half and cast yards away from the body of the ship, some landing safety, others tittering on the brink of destruction lodged in trees or worse, the canyon below.

Elijah awoke in the navigation deck after the crash, immediately moving to push himself up when his ribs seized in pain.  He looked down, shocked to fine bloody bandages wrapping his chest and ribs and restraints holding him in the chair.  He tried to remember what happened, he saw commander Reese bleeding out in the outer halls, the crashing sounds from the pilot's com, the arm he saw just before everything went dark.  He moved quickly to unfasten the straps holding him down and stumbled forward toward the cockpit, still obstructed by the cold steel plate from  the Khrysis.  As he did he felt the floor shift, his instincts kicked in, reaching for one of the railing before the whole deck fell out from under him and turned on its side.  He choked in pain, his ribs throbbing against the pressure of his weight pulling down on him and his strained breathing.

The soldier did his best to secure as many people in the mess hall as he could.  He latched a repelling cable to the railing and then himself, allowing him to be somewhat mobile throughout the turbulence to help others.  He attended to those who needed his help first, never wasting a moment's time to secure and protect the civilians as the ship shook. The low levels of gravity in the mess hall aided in the relative safety of the crash for everyone in the area.

The child clung to Cole as the ship fell from the sky.  She hadn't spoken at all since the meteor showers, her breathing had remained shallow and her skin pale.  She seemed cold and her arm couldn't move but when the doctors tried to look at her she hid behind Cole with a fear stricken look on her face.

Brandon had no means to secure himself as the ship plummeted to the ground.  He tried to ride out the turbulence by holding the railing in the black hall until the ship struck the first trees in its path, ripping the service way from the hull and casting it yards away from the rest of the ship.  Brandon whiplashed as the hall rolled uncontrollably across the ground until his head crashed against the railing, knocking him unconscious.

The majority of the ship and its survivors eventually rested soundly on grassy meadow above the Canyon, sparsely covered with trees that make the largest on earth dwarf in comparison.  One fallen branch lay beside the ship, measuring in length longer than the vessel that carried them.  A gentle coursed river through the canyon below, and a strange circular rock formation suspended themselves between the ledges.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Securion Mon Nov 07, 2016 10:42 pm

During the agonizing 72 hour drop to the surface, the people of securion tried to make sure that those in the mess hall with them were secured and looked after, getting any medical attention they needed to at least be stabilized and not dying, any one that was too far gone, Securion let the doctors deal with, they didn't make any choices or decisions with them.

A group of five friends from college who had gathered in Australia from the United States to get on this ship huddled together in the corner, keeping each other safe and hopefully sane. Olivia Durkin the Zoologist, Tiana Copeland a Botanist, John Villagra an architect, Josiah Work a mechanical engineer, and Kerri Dixon a structural engineer.

Once they started to enter the atmosphere of the planet, Securion did their best to stay secured, they knew they would be needed after this crash to help keep order with the survivors, so they tried to keep themselves out of harm's way as much as possible while securing the people nearest to them. The five friends used one another as anchors as they held on for dear life, being lucky enough to not sustain more than bumps and bruises.

Once they got to the planet, and everyone had taken a few seconds to clear their heads and get into the mindset to start moving again, H.4.X immediately started to bark order, telling people to start caring for the wounded, immediately, getting his medics and any doctors who stayed organized back into a medical station with as much of the supplies as they had left. He started to grab able bodied and non injured people and telling them to scour the ship and gather any salvageable items.

H.4.X then began to get people together to scout around the ship to see where they were, Olivia and Tiana along with Ivan, Roselyn and Bryana have so far volunteered to go out of the ship.

Cole would hold her and try to reassure her that the Dr's would try to help her and that she really needed to let them, and that he'd stay right next to her the whole time. " I promise I won't leave ok, I'm right her" he'd pat her head the whole time.

After Jesse made sure that they weren't badly injured, jesse began to move around the room checking people that were obviously medical professional and trying to get people back up. Hyaku, was doing the same thing except he was able to actualy handle minor injuries.

Timothy would eventualy dig himself out of debris that had burried the cabinet he was hiding inside. He was covered in scratches and lacerations from using himself to protect his personal PC console thing. He eventualy got to where he could see light and such but wasn't strong enough to push what ever had fallen at the top. " Hey HEY, I can't push this thing off..... someone needs to move this."

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Admin Tue Nov 08, 2016 12:17 pm

A people made their way out of the wreckage and surveyed their surroundings they would see to the east just beyond the horizon the scenery changed. Green grasses turned to tan hills, little plant life grew in what could be seen before it disappeared in a distant haze. To the west the break of earth that was carved by the river below, the canyon rustled and sounds of gentle water flowed. Beyond the gorge and across the sharp rocks thicker trees and brush obstructed the distance.

Rocks rolled down the steep cliff as a dark skinned man distinctive long braid down the center of his scalp with the sides of his head shaven cleared the top of the stones, to his back was a man, lighter skinned with long brown hair, tied with cables to his back. He pulled himself and the other an over the edge, pulled the ropes loose and gentle rolled the man onto the ground. As he did the others could see the blackened shoulder joint where the injured man's right arm once was. The dark skin mans stood straight and looked at the others before the sound of rocks shifting below filled the air. Metal creaking against stone pierced the air as it echoed through the canyon and up to the survivors above.

Tara Kennedy clung to little Taylor throughout the excruciating descent to the planet. She was able to secure medical treatment from one of the doctors, but only enough to stabilize the girl and keep her out of critical danger - everything else was only a matter of time, given the limited resources that they had available. Although the capable nurse would have been bustling around with the rest of the medical personnel under any other circumstance, she was useless to anyone besides her injured daughter - she had shut the rest of them out. Luckily, the low gravity and the assistance of the others in the mess hall kept her and her baby safe. The only other contact she had with anyone throughout the miserable landing was to ask if anyone had seen her son - and none had. Was he dead? Dead like so many of the rest of them?

Dr. Nguyen relied on the ship's personnel and Securion to keep her safe while she continued doing what she could. That 72 hours was pure hell for her. She spent most of it in a frenzied state of providing first aid for everything from severed limbs to punctured lungs. Some of them just couldn't be saved, and she wasn't sure whether it was more merciful to pretend to try and help them or send them away so she could get to the next patient more quickly. As time wore on, she reluctantly came to rely more on the latter option. Even patients that would have faced no serious risk of permanent injury in any standard earth ER would be sentenced to a painful, hopeless demise given the limited operating resources she had here in this falling death-trap. The most mercy she could offer might be a shot of morphine, but even that became harder and harder to justify for those that would die before the ship had even entered the planet's atmosphere. At one point, the harried woman was so exhausted that one of her own staff pulled her away from the operating table, laid her down, and forced her to take at least a few hours' rest before she collapsed. But Nguyen couldn't sleep. The nightmares were already starting.

Garcia's pod landed so far away from the ship that it was entirely out of sight. They had no visual or radio contact with anyone thus far, and as far as they knew, there may not have even been any other survivors. Before trusting the planet's preliminary readings, she ran a quick check of the outside atmosphere - breathable. She opened the hatch and climbed out, surveying the area carefully.

The little boy had landed in a different pod on the opposite side of the canyon. He looked around - this place was strange. Big trees everywhere. It was kind of pretty, but...scary. Someone opened the hatch of his pod, and they all started climbing out. Some people were crying, he noticed, but he didn't really know why.

The trees rustled with chirps and small animals hopping to and fro across their branches, alerting cautiously to the strange things climbing out of the pod below.  The calls echoed almost like birds calling to each other on earth. Branches rustled gently, shaking as the animals moved through them, some glimpses caught of their small forms leaping overhead before dispersing among the foliage.   A low hanging branch tapered down to a pencil thin point just above the pod and the boy nearest to it and a small green and red creature inched back from the edge.  It was only the size of a sugar glider, its body appeared mostly smooth with a ridge of fur down the center of its back, a long spindly tail curled around the branch for support, six quivering legs, and two big fear filled eyes watching the humans below.  It could do nothing but watch the boy only inches from its perch and stay silent for fear that these foreign creatures might harm it.

Cole would be scanning the mess hall as best he could from the small girls side as the Dr's did what they could. Seeing Tims small hands and arms waving from under the debris he tried to wave down the nearest person that looked able bodies and pointed towards the corner. " His names Tim, He's not strong enough to move that stuff please help him. JESSE!!!! Help this guy get tim out of there."

Jesse looked at cole and nodded after hearing and ran over with or without the other guy and started clearing debris.

Hyaku made his way out of the mess hall after helping asmuch as he could and looked around. The ship had ended up breaking in 2 sections large enough to have survivors, and the pods where raining down from the sky like falling stars. He made his way to the Securion officer. "Once My friends are done helping inside I'm sure Cole will be willing to leade a group to try and track down other people. you and your guys should probly get people out of the ship, we don't know how stable the ship is.

The little boy noticed the creature. The big people didn't, but the little boy did. Wow, he thought - it's kind of cute...almost like a bird, almost like a monkey. He had never seen anything like that before. He liked it. Slowly, cautiously, he moved a little closer towards it. He wanted to see it better...

Dr. Nguyen and whatever remained of her scattered, exhausted staff emerged from the wreckage. They found themselves near Olivia, Tiana, John, and Josiah. "We should set up a medical tent," one of her nurses suggested. "We still have injured...even more now, after the crash."

One of the people who ran over to Tim was Alisha, one of the Securion soldiers, and she helped heft all the material off of Tim. She was much stronger than she looked, all the military training paid off quite a bit it seemed.

H.4.X nodded to him "Alright, thank you, would you mind helping out? There are a lot of people for me and my men to get out of this ship in an orderly fashion and I am not in a mood to handle a rowdy crowd right now, and I don't think some of the people here could handle being in a rowdy crowd." He sighed and seemed incredibly miffed by the whole situation.

John and Josiah walked over to the doctor and her nurses "We could help set up a medical tent for you, looks like you need as many extra hands as you can get." Josiah said with a smile.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Elthaine Thu Nov 10, 2016 8:45 pm

Once Ami, Gregor, Brook, and Hector made it back to the mess hall, they reunited with the rest of their gang. No one had even heard from Leo, and everyone had assumed the worst. They all braced themselves for the grueling long descent, at least knowing that the rest of them were together. The team got out of the way to allow Securion and the medical staff to do their job, but also acted as support for whatever task was at hand.

When the ship finally made it the planet, the more militaristic of the bunch decided to brave the wilds. Jericho, Orion, Ami, Hector, and Brook all volunteered with the Securion officials to venture out on scouting. Orion spoke to H.4.X. "I've worked with these people here and can vouch for them. We can help with whatever you need." He glanced at the rest of the volunteers. "I can lead a team, or take orders."

Val and AR-BOT were the two who stayed behind. She told the robot that he should help out at the medical team. AR-BOT would fetch supplies and cart people around to other stations. Val, in the meantime noticed a kid being pulled out of the wreck clutching a laptop protectively. She whisked over to help. She saw all the scrapes and cuts he endured to protect it and her heart softened a bit. "Don't wanna get this busted eh?"

Meanwhile, a good couple of miles away, Leo crawled out the pod. Stretching his neck to work out a kink. "Those things are not comfy..." He looked off in the direction the ship had fallen. Then scanned the rest of his surroundings. Trees, air. Both these things were pretty good. "Everyone make it alright?"

H.4.X nodded at Orion "We are still making sure everyone gets out of here safely, take Bryana and Toria and go ahead of the next scouting group, maybe try and find any pieces that have come off the ship and find survivors." Toria and Bryana walked over and seemed ready to move out with this group.

Orion nodded firmly. And gestured for everyone to gather up. Hector began stretching and warming up, while Orion spoke. "Alright you heard him. We're heading out ahead of the first group to survey the wreck and find survivors. Let's move carefully and be alert. If anything happens, we head back." With that, He headed towards the entrance, took a slow breath and prepared to head out. The others followed suit, with a sense of uncertainty lingering in the air.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Admin Fri Nov 11, 2016 5:57 pm

The little creature stayed still in fear and also foolish curiosity of the boy who clearly saw it.  It glanced around as more chirping came down from the canopy, but it remained s the boy drew near.  When he was only a few inches from the branch it reared slowly up on its hind legs, its little tail curled around the branch for support as it peered at the little boy.

The horde of people left in the mess hall were divided, some feared leaving the ship, others ran for the exits to escape the hell they had suffered. Those who made it to the exit screamed in horror at the sight of it.  An armless man in a pilots attire lay motionless on the ground before them, another man, dark skinned tied to a solid piece of the hull leaped into the canyon below.  The sound of bending metal echoed more and more loudly as time went on, rocks below fell against the stone and into the river.

Leo and Garcia would hear chirping sounds above them, something rustling the branches above as they darted back and forth in the canopy above. These sounds were different, screeching as branches shook in a directional movement.  The calls were all different but it seemed that all the inhabitants in the trees were fleeing in the same direction...like they knew what the others meant.

The soldier scoffed off the securion orders, they had no field presence, just mindless cursing and ordering civilians like they were some of their operatives. He unlatched the repelling cable and began to console and organize the civilians when the screams came from outside.  His expression betrayed nothing as he continued helping people to their feet and to gather what belongings they had left.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Strike Fri Nov 11, 2016 6:02 pm

"That would be wonderful, thank you," the exhausted Dr. Nguyen offered. She was already dreading the new cases that would be coming up - surely they would see blunt force traumas, more cuts and abrasions, perhaps even pressure sickness from the atmospheric changes. Many more people nearly died in the crash, surely. Their work was far from over.

Garcia looked at Leo, shaking her head. "I can't believe we fuckin' survived that, parceiro." Noting the rustling noises above, she observed the canopy closely for a few moments. "Fuckin' animals here..." She glanced over at Odessa and the other people that had made it into the pod. She couldn't see them very well in transit, after all, and the only one of them she had known before was Leo. The first woman she saw exiting the pod was a quiet but personable lady who seemed a bit worn despite fighting to maintain a personable air; the graying hair dusting at the sides of her dirty blonde ponytail indicated that she was older. Garcia stepped over to help her out and introduced herself to Odessa and the stranger as she did so.

"Hi. I'm Camilla Garcia, tech. I was up front in the console the whole time, so...I didn't really get to say hello before. You hurt?" She glanced up again, keeping an eye on the rustling in the trees above them.

Meanwhile, the little boy came closer. All the big people were hurt and crying, but this little monkey was really cool. He couldn't help anyway, so he might as well look at the cool monkey, right? He reached out to see if it would let him pet it. He remembered his mommy telling him how to pet doggies, so he thought he would try that. Reach your hand out real slow, let him sniff it before you try to touch him, you don't want him to bite you...

Post by Admin Mon Nov 14, 2016 11:54 am

The little creature stood up on its hind legs, its tail curly around the branch for support as it moved away from the little boy's hand.  There it stayed the closer he got, only a hair's width from it and strangely it leaned down.  Curiosity got the better of the little creature and it sniffed his hand.  The chirping in the trees silenced for only seconds before it erupted again, different, screeching sounds coming from the tree tops as the creatures fled, leaping from branch to branch away from the crash.  They were moving furiously, some even missing the branches and plummeting to the ground.  The little one reared back, looking around for a way up but found nothing but the rickety branch where it had waited out the humans.  It looked back at the boy, jumped across to his shoulders and screeched in his ear hoping the boy could understand something wasn't right.

One of the monkeys fell from the trees and a loud crushing sound echoed in front of the survivors.  Huge scaled jaws erupted from the brush, clamping down on the tiny creature before throwing it back into its throat.  A huge scaled creature lifted itself from its resting place, at least thirty feet in length, long muscled legs, and long thick jaws dripping the blood of its prey.

"Eh! St. John! Can you hear me?" the man shouted as he repelled down the side of the cliff to the navigation deck. He slipped through the cracked airlock doors down into the hall of the bridge. He immediately looked for the chair where Elijah had been restrained for the landing but instead found him hanging from the railing above it, choking what air he could into his lungs. He extended his hand out to the young man. "Take my arm, come on!" The boy reached out with his left arm, gripping the mans wrist before his grip of the railing gave way.

The Woman looked at garcia and nodded " Nice to meet you..... what....what happened. I was in cryo one minute and then I wake up in the pod as we're bouncing along the atmosphere...... why aren't we on the ship?

Time Grabbed Alisha, and Jesse's hands as they got him out, still clutching the Computer terminal. " theres.... no signals........ I tried to patch into any system I could find.... either all destroyed, or severed from power...... Where are we? I don't like it, theres no computers. I don't Like it Jesse"

Jesse nodded at him and in their own androgynous voice. " I Know tim, we're not sure yet. We'll make it out of this though. Cole always comes through"

Hyaku would nod and leave Hax as he went back and found Cole, then over to jesse and Tim. " Hey, Once that little girl with the arm is stablized We're gonna go out and help scout the area. Till then we gotta get people out of the ship."

And thats what Hyaku, and Jesse did, They made their way through the mess hall instructing people to get out of the ship and stay together, and help anyone that needed it on the way, and to not take more then they could easily carry. They themselves got to where the hurt and injured were and began helping any medical people getting people unable to do it under their own power out of the ship.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

Post by Chaiyanlamo Tue Nov 15, 2016 8:01 pm

Odessa stood alone in the group. She made no eye contact. No attempt to touch or hold on. In fact she looked more like an expressionless doll than a young adult. Her mind however was in a frenzy. How could this woman have so lied to her when she needed a person? Was she plotting other betrayals? Did she plan on using her for something? Some experiment? A small mostly rational side of Odessa tried to argue that all of this was simply the schizophrenia talking but at this point the crash had pretty much eroded her ability to recognize reality from delusion. Instead, she stood there mumbling over and over again "Garcia - Chika. Chika not Garcia". In fact it wasn't until what ever that reptile was ate the monkey that she paid any attention to what was going on around her.

Dr. Rich stayed in the mess hall while a better field hospital was set up. It wasn't that he was afraid of what was out there. Nor was it due to duty. No it was he was too damn old and tired to really do more than listen for the alarm bells from patient's med-bands.

More or less the opposite side of the spectrum was Clair. The fact they were down and any one survived had her amped up. She recognized that the biggest things they needed to sort out was food and medicine. She didn't understand the ships kitchen, well any kitchen really, to be a help there. So she decided to see if she could make it to the medical stores. She knew she should take someone with her incase she broke a leg or something, so she grabbed someone who was hanging around looking more indecisive than frightened. This could be fun.

Mika sheepishly rejoined the group. She had no memory of what had happened - heck it took people talking about things for her to realize she was missing about three days. She didn't think she really wanted them back. Finding some body in a uniform, she thought it was one of the private security people, she asked tentatively, "Is there anything I can help with?"

The man Clair led off into the med bays was a broad tall brown skinned man, round six foot seven with a buzzed haircut. His weary brown eyes were wrinkled underneath and sagged with darkness from lack of descent rest for the last several days. He looked somewhere between thirty and forty years old, his body worn and muscles slightly less toned than perhaps they could have been in his younger years. Regardless of this he was still well in shape and very strong.

He was quiet but not distant in demeanor, usually not talking too much unless someone addressed him personally. He cared about the people around him and looked at many with a instinctual sense of empathy. Before and during the crash he had been helping lift the wounded the nursing staff could not handle on their own, seeming to have some limited knowledge of medicine and care. His knowledge inferred some level of training in the medical field but he was by no means a nurse or a doctor, maybe an aide or a first aide medic but nothing extensive. He could address small wounds, set temporary splints, bandage on life threatening wounds, and other novice skills. ((This character has been selected for Liam from the Character Concept Pot))

The little boy screamed. The other little monkey's blood was spraying everywhere. It wasn't jumping anymore. It was too scary to watch, and he tried to look away and run, but he couldn't. The other big people in his group were screaming more, too. They had been yelling and arguing and crying before but now, they were even louder. Some of them were hurt. Some of them started to run, but others were staying to carry somebody away - her leg was hurt real bad. One of them even came to try and pull the little boy away, but he didn't move. He was watching. Watching that big...lizard?

-

"Yeah. The ship crash-landed. What's your name?" Garcia omitted a fancy introduction. "We lost a lot of people. We don't know for sure yet, but our best guess is a meteor storm, maybe - doesn't matter. A lot of us made it to the evac pods." She turned and looked at the others, half-addressing the disorganized little group. "It's hard to say if anyone from the ship's landing survived, but there have to be at least a few other pods that landed. We should try and round up anyone else near us, maybe set up a little base camp for everyone."

Leo darted back inside remembering something. He opened up a compartment in the pod bay and began to unpack the basic provisions provided. He stuffed into a small pack a blanket, a water bottle, MREs, a flashlight and some fire starters. Stepping back out, he handed a water bottle to Garcia. "Here," he said. He then handed out the other supplies to the people around.
He shuffled a bit, tightening the pack's straps, and then gazed out towards the direction of the ship. Hills and trees obscured their vision.

"It looks like the ship broke in two main pieces, but who knows how many smaller pieces there are," he said scratching his chin. "The way it separated should have kept most of it intact when it fell. And if the failsafe on any of the engines worked, then they should have been alright. Probably had a hell of a rough descent, like we did."

-

Orion nodded to an officer who then promptly opened one of the gates. They stepped in the lock. the door shut behind them, and the door to the outside opened up. Ami and Brook had a rifle at the ready, Hector had borrowed a pistol from Securion, and Gregor had one of Orion's guns. Orion stepped outside taking in the immediate scenery. He breathed the air deeply, taking in the fact that he now was walking on completely foreign soil.
"A humbling feeling," Orion thought to himself. "To be light years away from your own planet. Stepping into the entirely unknown... Half of him tingled with excitement, the other half was quite terrified.

Post by Securion Sun Dec 04, 2016 4:51 am

After a few moments of organizing people and getting help in moving the corwd of frightened survivors, H.4.X decided that Securion was more needed outside then in this derelict space ship.He just reiterated to the volunteers whp were helping that everyone had to safely leave the ship in the most orderly way possible, which he was fairly certain woud be a slow task, but probably not a difficult one. Hopefully the rabble was too hurt and sore to be obnoxious and rowdy.

He gathered the rest of except for the two medics who he sent to find the doctor to help her set up a medical tent just outside the ship, where she would be needed most. Bryana and Toria had already left the ship with Orion and group.

Upon exiting the broken pieces of ship he looked around and surveyed the area. He sighed and looked around his soldiers again, and then glanced at the survivors filtering out of the ship "This isn't going to be easy...we have no idea what kind of wildlife exists on this planet, and from what I glanced when we were plummeting from fucking space, there was alot of desert nearby, and this is a very green spot. Now if we wanna use earth logic, that means animals will be drawn here, right?"

Suddenly a quiet voice responded "Well, yes, if they weren't all frightened away by the loud booms and the fire ball that we probably caused when we crashed."

H.4.X looked over and saw a shorter, thin built woman whose entire look would have screamed 'neeeerd' in school. Shoulder length auburn hair tied up in a knot, glasses with very basic red rims, and a green shirt and green pair of pants. "And who are you?" He asked with raised eyebrow.

"She's Tiana, a botanist who I dragged along onto the ship when I decided to come. My name is Olivia, a zoologist. She's right, if they all didn't run off which most earth animals probably would have done, there may be a good chance we run into a few down here." Another girl answered him, as she walked up besides Tiana. She was taller and more athletically built. She was wearing a shirt that even before the crash looked like it would have been slightly ratty, obviously worked in, and was wearing blue jeans. Her hair was also tied up but it looked like it would be much longer, maybe to the middle of her back. H.4.X couldn't quite tell if she was darker skinned or just tanned, but he didn't really give a shit. They would be useful so he told them to stay with him, so they could help try and figure out where to go or what to do next, once everyone was out and the med tent was set up. He also sent Jovan and Rosalyn to find any food or supploes that may be left over in the ship and bring them out.

With Orion and his group Tori and Bryana had been sent with them. It had been slightly quiet from their part when they had first stepped off the ship a few minutes ago, before securion had walked out and started to get the outside organized. Tori didn't like that and decided to speak up and looked to Orion "So, how did you end up on this colony mission?"

Bryana on the other hand stayed mostly silent as they walked along and scouted the area, keeping her eyes out for anything that appeared to be dangerous.

The taller dark skinned man that Claire was dragging around wasn't sure how to take this, this woman just kind of telling him what was happening and dragging him along, but if that was what he could to do help out right now, so be it. He wasn't a doctor, so he wouldn't be useful with any of the significant injuries, but if he could help get medicine, that was good enough. His voice seemed a bit deep when he spoke but it was also soft, and in any other circumstance maybe even soothing. "So we are getting medicine from storage right? Where exactly is that? Hopefully it survived reentry..."

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

The drake rose to its feet, exposing its long muscled legs as it started slowly toward the frantic group of survivors.  When the group began to flee it rushed them and made up the distance in a blink of an eye.  The survivors ran in all directions with no organization as the creature caught them up in its teeth, shaking their bodies in the air until they were lifelessly hanging there.  It picked off one after another, shredding them until no life remains and casting them aside for the next.

The monkey screeched at the boy, pulling on his hair away from the creature and into the dark woods behind them.  It jumped from the boy to Odessa chirping frantically for them to follow as the reptile was busy eating the other survivors.  It leaped into the lower branches, chirping and looking back at the two nearest to it trying desperately to keep their attention on where they needed to go.

The crowd funneled out into the medical tents outside for fear the ship would catch ablaze, others huddled in fear inside, to injured or scared to move out of its walls. The soldier tended to the latter going from one to another trying to console them and mend whatever wounds he could.  He was binding a elderly woman's wounds when shouting pierced his ears.  He turned, hand resting on his hand on his side arm

"No! Nooo!" a young man shouted pacing back and forth across the ship near Cole.  Just beyond him was the body of one of the other passengers bloodied from reentry slumped against the wall.  The man almost staggered back and forth, running his fingers across his dark shoulder length hair.  He made three or four passes like this before he grabbed nearby chair and heaved it across the room.  The little girl staying next to Cole screamed as the chair crashed against the wall, covering her face and head with her arms as she sunk down to the ground crying.

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

The little boy started running. He didn't really stop to think...he just ran. Where? He didn't know. He was lost. He was scared. That thing was eating people. His little legs carried him as fast as they could, in any direction he felt so inclined, so long as it was away from the monster.

Garcia took the water bottle with a nod of thanks. "You're right about the failsafes. I don't think they were ever designed to withstand that much of a beating, but we would've known if there was combustion. Probably would still be raining down in chunks, eh?" She took a conservative sip and then tucked the bottle away, gently brushing past the hidden grip of her handgun. "Maybe we should head that way."

Stranded Remains Empty Re: Stranded Remains

The monkey screeched at the boy turning to and fro through the woods, failing to keep the boys attention on it.   The frail little monkey darted backward toward the boy, chasing after him barely making ground on the him.  As he ran the trees seemingly stayed the same, foliage all the same color, bark looked similar, nothing giving a hint of direction to the boy.  Suddenly the monkey let out a ear piercing sound, different from the rest as it leap from the branches above the boy down toward his form.  As the monkey landed on the boy the trees abruptly cleared to a rocky ledge that dropped off into a deep gorge.

Smoke rose up from the north west of Garcia and Leo, broaching the tree a long time after the landing.  The smoke was black burning and drifting to the east before dissipating into the lightly clouded sky.  The smoke would be more south east to those at the mess hall and the escape pod near the boy. It wouldn't be easy to tell whether it was a part of the ship or the forest had caught ablaze.
__________

"Shut up!" he shouted as he kept pacing, staggering across the floor murmuring, looking around, searching for something. The soldier rose from the old woman he had been consoling and reached his hand out toward the man.

"I'm so sorry...My name is Jayce, we did what we could." the soldier tried to reach him, slowly moving toward him in a non threatening motion. He was turned sideways, his hand farthest from the agitated passenger resting n the grip of his side arm prepared to draw if necessary. "You're unsteady, are you alright?"

"Shut up! shut up! How could you let this happen?" the man shouted as he seemed more agitated after Cole's scolding. His pace grew more erratic, his murmuring more neurotic, even thoughts of suicide uttered as his rage and depression collided with each other.
